Veglio

History
"For more than 100 years, from father to son, we grow the fruits of this wonderful land
to preserve the heritage of traditions that our 'old ones' left us. You’ll find it written in our label, You can find it in our work, since four generations."
The agricultural and wine-growing company Veglio Giovanni e Figli, since more than 100 years, produces the great wines that made the Langhe and Alba area famous, from vines to bottling. Following a centenarian passion and tradition, the company produces: Dolcetto di Diano d'Alba, Barbera d'Alba, Barbera d'Alba Superiore, Nebbiolo d'Alba, Barolo, Chardonnay, Arneis and Moscato d'Asti. The activity began in 1899 thanks to Giuseppe’s great-grandfather, called Barba Gepin; it became well-established with his grandfather Giovanni, whom started privileging the vineyards cultivation. His sons, Giuseppino and Domenico, grew the winery specialization in the production of the great and typical wines of Langhe, in Piedmont. Now Paolo, who represents the fourth generation, continues the family tradition with commitment and passion, trying to combine the experience of the past with today's innovations.

The agricultural company
The company has spread along the surface of 20 hectares in municipalities of Diano and Serralunga D’Alba. In the last years, beside vineyard, we have cultivated also the hazel grove on the surface of 4 hectares.
The hazelnuts are a special niche product “Tonda gentile delle Langhe” belonging to the “Nocciola Piemonte” PGI. Carefully roasted and packaged, the hazelnuts can be tasted in conjunction with our wines or processed in the most greedy delicacy of the confectionary piedmont tradition.
