| Vinificazione | We hand-pick the grapes and, once crushed and destemmed, place them in steel tanks. There the must macerates and ferments on the skins for about 20 days, going through malolactic fermentation at the same time. After racking, part of the wine ages in French oak barrique. Bottling is usually mid-December, followed by a further 2-3 months in bottle. |

A Merlot with character: the Friuli Colli Orientali DOC 2022 from Ronco dei Pini is the estate's most immediate red, with fruit you recognise at first sniff.
100% Merlot, trained to double Guyot. Hand-harvested; after crushing and destemming the must macerates and ferments on the skins for about 20 days, with malolactic fermentation alongside. Part of it ages in French oak barrique. Bottled in mid-December, then 2-3 months in bottle. 14% vol.
In the glass it wears a ruby red with violet reflections. It smells of woodland and red fruit, with fine raspberry to the fore. In the mouth it is dry and moderately tannic, warm and soft, with good length.
Fourteen degrees carried with elegance rather than weight.
Recommended pairings: full-flavoured pasta dishes, beef tagliata, stewed rabbit, cheeses. Serve at 16-18 °C.
