Erik Banti

Erik Banti started out as a winegrower in 1981 in Montemerano, in a small cellar inside the walls of the medieval village, and is widely regarded as the pioneer of Morellino di Scansano. With passion, enthusiasm and dedication he played a major part in making this DOC – then known only locally – known across Italy and the world, earning praise from the very first years from guides, specialist and general magazines and national newspapers, starting with Gambero Rosso's Tre Bicchieri.

In 1994 the winery moved to Scansano, where in 2004 major renovation and expansion work was carried out for production, the wine shop and hospitality.

The estate has always aimed to make quality wines that keep the typicity of the Maremma, an area whose position sets it apart from the rest of Tuscany's growing zones.
