Fureghin: in the Veneto dialect it means rascal. A name that already says it all: lively, direct, a little unpredictable — just like this red sparkling wine from the clay and volcanic hills of Brendola, at the gateway to the Colli Berici. A blend of Tai Rosso, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, hand-harvested into crates in the third week of September from calcareous clay soil with volcanic and basaltic outcrops.
In the cellar, destemming with 60% of the grapes crushed, cold maceration (5-6°C) for 3 days, fermentation for 10-15 days at 16-17°C, followed by 3-4 days of post-fermentation maceration to maximise extraction and colour. Ageing in stainless steel tanks for at least 12 months, then second fermentation in autoclave for 30 days.
In the glass, a bright ruby red with violet highlights. The nose is a pleasant aroma of cherry and strawberry with mineral notes that add freshness and character. The palate is lively, fruity and of good acidity, very easy to drink, with a clean finish that invites the next sip. A red sparkling wine for the aperitif, not easily forgotten.
