Marchese delle Saline

Marchese delle Saline, with its Etna Bianco and Etna Rosso obtained from the respective Carricante and Nerello Mascalese/Nerello Cappuccino berries, offers those who taste it the truest expression of the volcanic wines of Etna.
The distinctive characteristics of these wines derive primarily from the volcanic soils and microclimate, which lock in significant aromas in the grapes. Nerello Mascalese produces red wines of absolute finesse, while Carricante is ideal for producing a distinctively savory white wine that captures all the aromas of the sea on the slopes of Etna.

A STORY OF TRADITION AND COMMITMENT

The Marchese delle Saline brand was born in the Trapani area and has its roots in distant times, when grandfather Giacomo, in 1860, moved to the Sicilian countryside and began cultivating his first plots of land in the Baiata district. Since then, the passion, expertise, and love of doing things with love have been passed down from father to son over the years, right up to the present day. During those years, Giacomo Rallo, when he wasn't busy working in the vineyard, would harvest salt at the Marsala salt pans during the summer. Being very diligent and productive, grandfather Giacomo loved the taste for things well done, and for this reason he was given the nickname "Marchese." His story and his love for the salt pans led his grandchildren, years later, to honor their grandfather's memory by naming the company "Marchese delle Saline."
