Pinino

FAMILY & HISTORY
The PININO winery has been home to traditional winemaking since 1874, when public notary Tito Costanti founded it. Ever since 1950, PININO has been inscribed in the Brunello register of winemakers.
By acquiring PININO in 2003, Spaniard Max Hernandez and Austrian Andrea Gamon turned their passion into a profession. The two families’ connection dates back to a long history in the fashion business. For Max -whose Father had been a winemaker in Toro - it also signified an adventure leading him back to his family’s roots.

They quadrupled the cultivation area to 16 hectars with the addition of the Canchi vineyard and have increased the quality by investing in modern production and operations.
The enthusiasm for great wine was already inherited by Andreas daughter Elena, who joined the team in 2019 as sales manager.

VINEYARDS
Pinino is situated in the picturesque Montosoli hills in Northern Montalcino with a southern orientation and soil made of galestro, scheletro and calcereous tuff.
Canchi can be found in Northeastern Montalcino with a southeastern orientation as well as clay and lime-rich soil.

RENAISSANCE
The brand reflects the winery’s renaissance: the historical emblem harmonizes with the fresh branding as does the contemporary elegance of the new wines with the long history of its terroir.

VINIFICATION
The Sangiovese grapes are exclusively hand-picked and then aged in large Slavonian oak barrels as well as
Tonneaux.
Cultivation follows the «AGRO-QUALITA» standard as well as the rules and regulations of the ”Consorzio del Brunello”.
