Rivale

Riccardo Scamarcio fulfilled his winemaking dream in 2012 when he bought a small farm called "Rivale" near Polignano a Mare. On just two hectares, split into small plots overlooking the sea, he planted Pinot Nero and Chardonnay, grapes never before seen in the area. A choice that runs against Puglia's traditional wine identity, betting instead on elegance, finesse and aromatic depth.

Production is small: around 7,000 bottles a year, all strictly organic and in small lots, following the French model of the "vins de garage".

The project won over Wine Enthusiast, which praised the Rivale for its floral delicacy, saline tension and ethereal lightness: a Pinot Nero that reflects its terroir while keeping a clear Burgundian imprint.
In addition, at Food and Travel Italia's 2025 Wine Awards, Scamarcio was recognised for his "Rivale" production, confirming the strength of his wine venture.
