100% Cabernet Sauvignon from historic vineyards planted in 1983 and 1992, at 250 meters above sea level on calcareous marl mixed with clay. An international grape variety interpreted with an unconventional method: in 2020, the winery acquired two Clayver natural ceramic stoneware barrels, where the grapes ferment and macerate on the skins for 6-8 months — a bold choice that brings L'Amaranto closer to the world of characterful natural wines. This is followed by 12 months of aging in stainless steel. Harvesting is always done by hand, with 50% whole berries and destemming within 15-20 minutes of collection.
In the glass, it presents a dense, dark ruby red color. The bouquet is intense and alluring: blackcurrant, blackberry, sweet pepper, spices, dark chocolate, and a delicate herbaceous note characteristic of the grape. On the palate, it is powerful but not heavy, with a robust tannic structure, well-smoothed by prolonged contact with the skins, balanced by unexpected freshness. The finish is long and enveloping, with a return of dark fruit and spices.
Only 3,000 bottles produced — an artisanal, organic, unconventional Supertuscan.
