Founded in 1964, the historic headquarters of Cantina Benincasa is located in Capro, in the municipality of Bevagna. The hectares of vineyards nestle on the gentle, sun-drenched hills of Bevagna, in the heart of the prestigious Montefalco wine region, home to the now renowned and prestigious Sagrantino di Montefalco DOCG wine.
It was here that founder Domenico Benincasa began his pioneering work in modern Sagrantino cultivation. The Benincasa Winery was, in fact, the first winery to be registered in the Sagrantino register.
Over the years, management of the winery has passed from generation to generation, from father to son, and since the 2000 harvest, the company has been in the hands of its third generation: Marco Alimenti, grandson of the founder Domenico.
