Tenuta Moriniello

This family estate was born from the dream of two siblings, Tania and Luigi, inherited from their father Beniamino. Long kept in a drawer, it became a project when the two asked their father to help them make it happen.

Beniamino's passion for vineyards, the love of wine he passed on to his children, and his entrepreneurial talent gave life to "Tenuta Moriniello".

A journey of almost five years took the Moriniello family the length and breadth of Tuscany's wonderful landscapes, meeting people and listening to stories and legends, and ended with the conviction that great wines are born in enchanting places, with rolling hills and land always exposed to the sun, which, not by chance, give the best grapes because they draw from the earth everything our eyes simply recognise as beautiful scenery.

The property, almost 40 hectares, all organic, of which 20 are vineyards and 5 olive groves, lies at Montaione, in a spot ideal for its position and soils. The remaining 15 hectares are almost entirely suited to future planting. The vineyards grow Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Ciliegiolo and Colorino in the best Chianti tradition, alongside Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Tannat and Syrah planted at altitudes from 250 to 600 metres, together with Sauvignon Blanc and Gewürztraminer. Thanks to wide temperature swings, all of them develop rich, intense aromas.

The vineyards mark a path that can be seen as a model of respect for nature, begun in 1999 by the previous owner, when the estate adopted the rules for organic certification, which it then obtained in 2002.
