Val Testa

Società Agricola Val Testa was founded in 2013 by Alex, Nicholas and Vito, brothers and father, but its roots go back to the 1950s and the great-grandparents. It lies in Emilia-Romagna, in the province of Ferrara, between the Valle del Mantello and the Bando nature reserve, an area that was reclaimed from the water in the 1940s and 50s.

The area enjoys a distinctive terroir rich in minerality and a climate influenced by the nearby Adriatic Sea, factors that benefit the grapes and give the wines body, freshness and savouriness. The vines, Guyot-trained, yield grapes selected during a rigorous hand harvest.

Today the estate has a vineyard of about a hectare and a half, distinguished by the production of Lambrusco Maestri, a particularity and uniqueness in the area, vinified as a single varietal; the rest of the production is white grapes.

The vineyard is farmed organically, and since the 2022 vintage the Lambrusco bottles have carried the corresponding certification, which attests to their wholesomeness as well as their high quality.

Constantly expanding, with the right mix of tradition and innovation, the estate aims to increase its production and keep raising the bar of quality.
