the producer

Rivale

Riccardo Scamarcio realized his winemaking dream when he purchased a small farm called "Rivale" near Polignano a Mare in 2012. On just two hectares—actually divided into small parcels overlooking the sea—he planted Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, grape varieties never seen before in this area. This choice bucked the traditional winemaking tradition of Puglia, focusing instead on elegance, finesse, and aromatic depth.

Production is limited: around 7,000 bottles per year, all strictly organic and in small batches, following the Frenchified model of “Vins de Garage”.

The project won over Wine Enthusiast, who praised the wineRivalfor its floral delicacy, saline tension and ethereal lightness – a Pinot Noir that reflects the territory while maintaining a clear Burgundian imprint.
Furthermore, at the Food and Travel Italia Wine Awards 2025, Scamarcio was awarded for his production “Rivale”, confirming the validity of his winemaking adventure.
