Tenuta Moriniello
The family business was born from the dream of two siblings, Tania and Luigi, inherited from their father Beniamino. Left in a drawer by their father, it became a project when the two siblings asked him to help them make it a reality.
Beniamino's passion for the vineyards, his love of wine, passed down to his children, and his entrepreneurial talent gave life to “Tenuta Moriniello”.
The journey, which lasted almost five years, led the Moriniello family to retrace the length and breadth of the wonderful places of Tuscany, to meet people, to listen to stories and legends, and to conclude with the conviction that great wines are born from enchanting places, characterised by rolling hills and lands perpetually exposed to the sun, which, not surprisingly, produce the best grapes because they collect from the earth everything that our eyes identify, simply, as wonderful landscapes.
The property, nearly 40 hectares, all organic, of which 20 are vineyards and 5 are olive groves, extends to Montaione, an ideal location due to its position and soil morphology. The remaining 15 hectares are almost entirely suitable for future plantings. The vineyards produce Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Ciliegiolo, and Colorino, in the finest Chianti tradition, alongside Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Tannat, and Syrah. These grapes are grown on plots at varying altitudes, from 250 to 600 meters above sea level, along with Sauvignon Blanc and Gewurztraminer. Thanks to the temperature variations, all of these grapes enjoy rich and intense aromas.
The vineyards underscore and distinguish a path, considered an ideal model for respecting nature, begun in 1999 by the previous owner, the year in which the company adopted the "Regulations for Organic Certification", which was then obtained in 2002.
