Saltarius is grown in the small hamlet of Saltaria, in the heart of the Rovereto hills. At 445 meters above sea level, this land, composed of loose, chipping loam soils, kissed by the sun and caressed by the Ora del Garda wind, produces grapes capable of producing a highly elegant Trento DOC classic method.

Saltarius is the result of a perfect balance between Chardonnay (60%) and Pinot Noir (40%). The grapes, carefully grown on simple Trentino pergolas and west-facing terraces, have a maximum yield of 90-100 quintals per hectare. After vinification, the wine ages for over 60 months on the lees before disgorgement, developing complexity and refinement.

But Saltarius is much more than just wine: it's the story of a family that has nurtured and passed down a passion for viticulture for generations. From great-grandfather Achille to his son Franco, up to today's grandson Andrea, a young winemaker who, together with his team, carries forward a dream of tradition and innovation. The first harvest of 2019, harvested with grandfather Franco before his passing, marked the beginning of a journey that has now become a mission: preserving an increasingly rare artisanal knowledge and enhancing a unique terroir.

The name Saltarius has its roots in the Latin saltuarius, a term derived from saltus, meaning "forest", "pasture" or "farm". In past centuries, the saltaro was the guardian of the cultivated fields, the one who ensured their

protection. Today, that bond with the land is renewed in every bottle of Saltarius, which encapsulates the history, work, and dedication of those who deeply love this place.
