VINEYARD : The grapes, 100% Nebbiolo Chiavennasca, come from 20% of the estate's vineyards in the Sassella subzone (municipalities of Castione Andevenno and Sondrio) and 80% from the Valgella subzone (municipality of Teglio). All the vineyards, located on the terraced Rhaetian slope at altitudes ranging from 400 to 600 meters above sea level, have been converted from the traditional Valtellina arched training system to the classic Guyot system, with a single fruiting cane bearing 8-10 buds. This has allowed for a controlled reduction in yields, which are much lower than permitted by the production regulations; this improves the color, structure, and body of the wine.
VINIFICATION : The grapes were harvested in early October in crates of approximately 4 kg and left to dry naturally in the drying room until early January, when they were taken to the cellar for pressing, which involved removing the stalks. Fermentation took place in a stainless steel tank, with the grapes remaining on the skins for 20 days, during which three delestage operations were performed to promote the extraction of color and aromatic compounds from the skins, as well as to "assist" the development and activity of the yeasts with appropriate oxygenation, forced to operate under extreme conditions of temperature, sugar content, and, subsequently, alcohol content. After racking, alcoholic fermentation continued until the sugars were completely exhausted and was immediately followed by malolactic fermentation, after which the wine was aged for over 24 months in a medium-capacity oak barrel. The period spent in the cellar was subsequently completed with a further five months of refinement in the bottle.

The vineyards are in Teglio (Valgella sub-zone) and in Sondrio (Sassella sub-zone).
