the producer

Colline Guizzette

Colline Guizzette was born between two hills where the Guizzette stream flows downstream, an area suited to the cultivation of Glera, which produces the Prosecco par excellence, the Cartizze Superiore DOCG. The company has its origins in 1800, when it purchased lands from the Counts of Lonigo, Pola, and Battaia in the municipality of Valdobbiadene, specifically in the Cartizze area.

Zaccaria, known as Berto, continues to work his land with passion and dedication using only his hands and two oxen, beginning to make Cartizze wine in a few wooden barrels in 1940.

In the late 1960s, Guido, his son-in-law, joined the company when he married Pierina. After just a few years, Guido purchased additional vineyards in Cartizze and, in 1987, additional DOCG vineyards in the municipality of Valdobbiadene, taking the company to the next level. In 1970, Guido expanded the cellar, implementing new techniques that were cutting-edge for the time. Only in 1982, at the age of thirteen, did his son Roberto pursue his passion for winemaking alongside Guido.

In 2000, Roberto, a product of innovation, launched the first bottles of sparkling Prosecco on the market, also managing to increase production of the traditional "vin col fondo" wine, from which the winery originated.

They continue to purchase new vineyards and, no less importantly, expand the cellar, first in 2012 and then in 2017. Since 2018, the company has built a tasting room, boasting breathtaking views of our Cartizze vineyards and the warm welcome of our family. Here, guests can taste our four sparkling wines and our "vin col fondo." The two, with their long tradition, manage the cellar and vineyards alongside their large family.
