Lugana DOC Riserva "Adele" 2022 - Sgreva

The Lugana DOC Riserva “Adele” 2022 from the Sgreva winery is a white of exceptional depth and elegance, and one of the highest expressions of the Turbiana grape. It comes from a very strict selection of late-harvested grapes, finding the perfect balance between partial drying of the fruit and long, careful ageing in bottle.

The name of this Riserva, “Adele”, carries deep personal and historical meaning for the estate: it is a warm tribute to the mother of the Sgreva family owners, a central figure and a pillar in the history and growth of both the family and the winery. That the house’s most prestigious and longest-lived wine bears her name underlines the inseparable bond between the family’s roots and the winemaking tradition around Sirmione.

In the glass it shows a bright golden yellow and great density. The nose unfolds an intense, complex bouquet with notes of aromatic herbs, ripe yellow-fleshed fruit, a touch of honey and a mineral edge typical of Lugana’s clay soils.

On the palate it is powerfully structured, soft, round and saline-mineral, balanced by a lively freshness that gives it its exceptional longevity. The finish is very long and invites the next sip.

This Lugana Riserva is superb with elaborate lake or sea fish dishes, shellfish, rich Mediterranean pasta and rice dishes, and hard and semi-aged cheeses. It is also excellent as a wine for slow sipping, to follow its evolution over time.
