Tenuta Moriniello

THE HISTORY: ABOUT US

The family business comes from the dream of two siblings, Tania and Luigi, inherited from their father, Beniamino. The dream, long left in the drawer by their father, turned into a project, when the siblings asked him to help them in making it happen.

The passion of Beniamino for the vineyards, the love for wine, passed on to his children, and his entrepreneurial talent, have given life to “Tenuta Moriniello”.

The journey, which lasted almost five years, has led the Moriniello family to retrace the marvellous places of Tuscany, meeting people, listening to stories and legends, and closing with the belief that great wines born from enchanting places. Places characterized by sinuous hills and territories exposed perennially to the sun, which, not surprisingly, give the best grapes, because collecting from the earth all that our eyes identify, simply, as wonderful landscapes.

THE TERRITORY AND RESPECT FOR NATURE

The estate, almost 40 hectares all organic, which 20 are planted with vineyards and 5 with olive groves, extends in Montaione, in an ideal place for the position and morphology of the lands. The remaining 15 hectares will be exploited, almost totally, to future plants. From the vineyards are obtained sangiovese, canaiolo, ciliegiolo and colorino, in the best Chianti tradition, flanked by cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, merlot, petit verdot, tannat and syrah, produced from grapes planted in soils with different altitudes, from 250 to 600 meters above sea level, together with sauvignon blanc and gewurztraminer. All, thanks to the thermal excursions, enjoy rich and intense aromas.

The vineyards underline and characterise a route, ideal model in terms of respect for nature, which started in 1999 by the previous owner, when the company adopted the “Organic Certification Guidelines”, that was then obtained in 2002.

THE PAST AND THE FUTURE

The love for the challenges and the devotion to work have determined the motivation to acquire the property, now recognised as “Tenuta Moriniello”. Since every change comes from the deep knowledge of the origins, the Moriniello family has established a precious collaboration with the previous owner and with his twenty-year enologist. Thanks to their advice and expert knowledge of the territory, “Tenuta Moriniello” will continue in time to keep alive the link with tradition, while looking towards the future.

Starting from these solid foundations, the family has been able to better exploit the extraordinary climatic qualities of the territory, through improvements and investments, in the vineyards and in the winery, which have allowed to increase the already high quality of the wines.
