Founded in 1825, the agricultural estate Elena Catalano is located in the district of Monte Pino, one of the eight largest hills in the province of Benevento.
Through the experience gained over the years, wanting to give a further boost to the quality of its grapes, the company undertook the process of winemaking and bottling at the origin of the three native vines, typical of the Sannita area, at the slopes of Mount Taburno.
Keeping the same passion for the viticulture that was handed down from previous generations, the year 2013 marks the debut of the first professional vinification with the help of the enologist Alessio Macchia.
In 1911, at the age of 17, our grandfather F. Catalano, emigrated to the United States.
He sailed on the "Europa" from the port of Naples to New York, where he spent ten profitables years.
After over a century of traditions and ownership change from father to son G. Catalano, it is with affection and gratitude that we value, through our winemaking, what our ancestors have began for us.
In this venture, we have promised ourselves to treat our vineyards like a garden, nurturing healthy plants, without forcing production at the expense of quality.
We have honorded this promise of ours by keeping the production levels below the kilogram-per-plant and maximizing manual work in the vineyard to avoid the use of products that would be harmful to the plants and the surrounding environment, in order to keep intact the natural equilibrium that nature has given us.
